Golden Nugget hotel reviews?

Im taking my company for a business meeting to Las Vegas. Has anyone been there, how is it all?Golden Nugget hotel reviews?
Golden Nugget is actually a first class hotel. It's the best hotel in Downtown Las Vegas and has a AAA Four Diamond rating. They did a lot of upgrades over the past few years and the new rooms are very nice. It's amazing how some people will answer a question without having the facts.

I have stayed at the Golden Nugget before, their rooms are like the old motel rooms still, but they all have safes in their closets, their rooms have two bed, 1 tv, 1 bath, but if you love to swim, love fish, and love the old western times, the Golden Nugget is perfect, they have a pool with a giant fish tank in the center with a water slide going through the tanks which contains sharks, trout and plenty of others.

The Golden Nugget is downtown and nice but definitely not on the famous Strip. If they give you a good deal for the meeting rooms and the rooms for employees take it but check out a few others before you accept. If you don't care if you are on Strip, you may want to check out the Orleans, which has great meeting rooms and fantastic hotel rooms. It is good enough the State of Nevada holds their annual Service Coordinator Conference there
Please forgive me for answering your question with a few questions/qualifiers of my own...

**I help plan and organize events from small parties/get-togethers up to educational conferences that have nearly 10,000 rooms and over 40k 'room nights' annually (just ONE of the companies I work with)...so, I know 'a little something' about this topic...and I'd love to help you make the right decisions on this...at no extra cost to you!

With that said...The Golden Nugget...is a wonderful property "off the strip" and in the "Freemont Street" or 'original downtown' sections of Las Vegas. Most of the "Mega-resorts" that people associate with Las Vegas are a few miles away in the 'unincorporated county' area just outside of Las Vegas (trivia, most people don't know that) but folks call/consider "the strip" to be Las Vegas just the same. Sooo, your decision should be a combination of "do you want to be ON THE STRIP of Vegas near Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, MGM, etc...OR...do you want to be in the 'downtown/freemont street' section of Vegas?"

You have MANY choices of properties that are probably wonderful spots and in the same ballpark price-wise as the Golden Nugget (one option may actually be cheaper) AND put you ON THE STRIP.

However, if you go Downtown Vegas, the Golden Nugget is the nicest, cleanest looking/feeling property in the area...there are good 'other spots' to visit and play tourist at (including their nightly light show and/or free concerts)...but they are not 'the strip'. Although the Golden Nugget is THE NEXT BEST OPTION! It has been remodeled a number of times within the last several years, each time its ownership changed hands, and they have a beautiful swimming pool/bar area, etc for people to 'hang out' in. The sleeping rooms are nice and some are quite impressive. (Stayed in a two-story suite with an elevator and spiral stairway within the 1500 sq ft suite on a recent New Years Eve with family and friends!) Meeting rooms, unfortunately, I am not as 'up to speed' with those...but I have "connections' EVERYWHERE in Vegas for that stuff...if you are still shopping space and rates...let me know...I'll help you out by usng some of my knowledge, experience and connections in your favor!

Now, to answer your question "properly" it would be helpful to know the following bits of info.

*How many rooms, likely, are you booking? (Some people sharing rooms, others not,...so, approx. total.

*What is the demographic/makeup of the people coming to Vegas? Yes, male/female ratio may matter as far as 'room planning' (never want to be blamed for a man/woman forced or pressured into sharing a room!) but, the AGE and 'environment' people would be coming from. (i.e. big city people used to staying at Four Seasons or Hyatt resort properties versus folks whom a Motel 6, Best Western, etc are 'good' properties in their opinions. (So, glitzy nice properties or bargain/cheap properties?)

*Have you held this in Vegas before? (First time for you, your company, your people? Prior visits to compare/contrast this one against?)

*Budgeting? Your primary consideration is...?...as far as 'sleeping room' costs vs 'meeting room' costs? (i.e. 20 hotel rooms and one meeting room? 300 sleeping rooms and 10 meeting rooms with breakfast, lunch, etc provided to the room by banquet/catering departments...? Summary: meeting room costs or sleeping room costs your greater concerns? %26lt;budget issues?%26gt;)

*Etc, etc... :D
If you check out http://hotels.virgin-vacations.com/ you can compare hotels by price, location and star rating.
That is a downtown (Fremont Street) hotel. So, it would be cheaper than using a hotel on the strip for your business meeting.

I'd check around for prices.
its old and it sucks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gmndlleX鈥?/a>
