How long do you have to be inactive in AC to become a new member?

I read that 6 months from the last time you play in atlantic city casinos that you reward points will disappear. Does this mean you become inactive and you must sign up as a new member? They give new members goodies so I was wondering how long would you have to be inactive for in order to be considered a new member?
