Vegas neon signs, such as those from the Golden Nugget and Silver Slipper casinos.
In this time of fiscal uncertainty, when jobs are hard to find, and we are all being asked to cut back, is THIS a wise use of AMERICAN TAX-PAYER MONEY?Did you know that The city of Las Vegas has received a $5.2 million federal grant to...?
You know the answer to this...
As the Hooligan Members of congress are leaving... they are taking all the light bulbs and fixtures and spray painting the walls.
(an analogy, for being evicted from an apartment)
Incredibly they tried to push though MORE SPENDING and ear-marks.
After everything that's happened... that takes GUTS... and NOT in a good way.
Sure it is. If you give them the money to build the park then you can give people jobs. The money they make goes back into the local economy too?.Plus, you are saying that you don't want money for NY, California or Texas to help make your area better? You want increased crime by having people out of work? You want businesses to fail because people don't have money to by stuff? It makes good sense in my mind because the money goes right back into the system for a minor amount of the total federal budget. If you made $1M would you think spending $5 is a big deal? Of course not. The same rule applies here.Did you know that The city of Las Vegas has received a $5.2 million federal grant to...?
Well, I never! $5.2M? Why, that's almost 0.017 cents per taxpayer per year! Outrageous! Especially when compared with the only $3,500 (on average) per taxpayer per year that we spend on the Military!
"In this time of fiscal uncertainty" you would do well to 'calibrate' your outrage and direct it at something that actually makes a fiscal difference....try not to forget how outraged Sarah Palin got when SHE was running for Vice President at the money that had been "wasted" on fruit-fly research......and how very quiet she went when her advisors pointed out it was research aimed at reducing the odds of children being born as "selected imperfects" like the child she has....
Yes
Las Vegas is one of the main draws for foreign tourlsts. They spend rather a lot more than $5.2million when they get there.
