Should I move to become a stand-up comedian?

I'm 17 (almost 18) and I need to do stand-up, I don't care that they don't make any money. I've tried to suppress it and focus on school and finding a real career but its just been festering on my brain for the past few years. I live in davie (south florida) where the stand-up scene is pretty much non-existent. Would it even be worth it to move somewhere to move to a different state like new york or california? I feel like people who try to make it in any kind of entertainment just move to LA and end up working at applebees and ****.Should I move to become a stand-up comedian?
You have to do a lot locally before you can move on up. Going to LA or NY is taking you where the competition is so severe that your chances of ever being seen by anyone is slim. Getting know in your own town and state, gives you a heads up. You will also be seen by the directors who come to direct locals shows, or to just check out what is going on.

Take it at your own pace. Do what you feel inspired and comfortable doing.

You need to look around. I visited at least 3 open microphone nights last summer in the Davie area.Should I move to become a stand-up comedian?
Well find a place to preform and if they don't think your funny they won't think your funny in cali or NY
