Where is the best place (area) to stay in Denver?

My family (husband and 2 boys ages 7 %26amp; 11) are planning a trip to Denver in a couple of weeks. We have never been to that part of CO before and are unsure of where to stay. Some of the activites that we are looking at doing are Museum of Nature %26amp; Science, Rockies Baseball Game, Coors Brewery, Aquarium, Denver Mint %26amp; Elitch Gardens. Is it better to stay in the downtown area or is there a section of Denver that may be a little cheaper but not too far away? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, if there are any other must see attractions please let me know! Thanks a lot!Where is the best place (area) to stay in Denver?
The activities that you listed are all downtown except the brewery. Staying downtown is safe but probably a little pricier than the burbs. You could split downtown and the brewery and stay somewhere off 6th avenue west of town. Try searching hotels in Lakewood / Golden if you want that option. I'd highly recommend staying downtown to be close to all the action.
Stay in BOULDER!

I live there, and I think that if you were to stay in boulder, you should stay at the Boulderado. If you want to stay in a more high class, not boulder esque hotel, go to the St. Julian.

If you cant stay in boulder, at least take a day trip down from Denver. It is a 45 minute drive, and it is great!

I love it there!

You can go on Pearl Street, go to the Boulder Creek, go on a hike, go to Chitaqua Park or just float around the town!

It is a great place for kids, adults and everyone else!

Hope you have fun!Where is the best place (area) to stay in Denver?
If you're bringing two boys, you'll want to be reasonably close to your activites but not in the less safe areas of town. I'd recommend staying in Cherry Creek. There are reasonably priced accomodations, it's a fairly nice part of Denver and it'll only take twently minutes tops to drive to the locations you mentioned.
Yes I would recommend staying downtown, so you can be closer to those activities and so you actually get the Denver "city feel".

Also be careful here because most people that visit come and don't want to go back
Try somewhere around S. Broadway,it's close to Downtown and lots of shops,... You can go to the museums, and S. lots of antique shops,...Good restaurants. Good luck!
