Which las vegas holel is better monte carlo or golden nugget?

I am going in a week and we have reservations at both. Going with my wife and her family.Which las vegas holel is better monte carlo or golden nugget?
It really depends on what you are looking for! The Golden Nugget just got a sweet remodel, and is looking hot for an old lady on the stip! http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/Golden鈥?/a> it is classic old Vegas, but because Downtown is full of nostalgic older guests you do get a more mature crowd.

Monte Carlo is great, and a lot of fun and has a much younger crowd http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/Monte-鈥?/a> but it lacks that Old Vegas charm.

Anyways I hope you have a lot of fun!
I don't see the connection that led you to choose between these two hotels. The Golden Nugget is downtown nowhere near the Strip and the Monte Carlo is right on the strip. To be honest if you prefer to stay downtown, the Nugget is probably the nicest hotel on Fremont Street. If your focus is oriented more toward the Strip Monte Carlo is an excellent choice for the budget minded.

Anyway, the Nugget has nice rooms and a nice pool. The Monte Carlo has nice rooms and a nice pool. The real deal maker is location. I go to Vegas all the time and to be honest there just is no comparison. The Strip is the place to be. Downtown has about a dozen hotels most rather modest and past their prime. The Strip has 28 hotels including the largest and newest. The only attraction downtown is the Freemont Street Experience which is nice but once you have seen it that is pretty much it. All of the attractions and shows are on the Strip. The strip seems a lot nicer and cleaner, too, in my opinion.

To me, going to Las Vegas and then staying downtown is like going to New York but staying in Staten Island. When people think of New York they are thinking Manhattan. When people think of Las Vegas they are thing the Strip.

The next step up on the strip would be the MGM, Mandalay Bay and Mirage. After that you would have to go to Bellaigo, Venitian, and the Wynn but they are much more expensive. If you want a change try the Treasure Island or NYNY they are abou the same and are in better locations than Monte Carlo and the Nugget.
The Golden Nugget is nice BUT Downtown while Monte Carlo is on the famous Las Vegas Strip. And next door is NYNY, across one corner is MGM Grand, across another Tropicana, and across the other Excalibur (castle) with a short free tram to Luxor (pyramid) and then Mandalay Bay

I would stay at Monte Carlo but then I found Downtown boring boring boring
That depends on what your looking for. They are both equal in quality but one is downtown and the other is on the strip. Downtown is less hectic and is typically for older tourists, the strip is usually for the younger crowd. I am 26 and don't really like Fremont street even though it is cheaper to drink.
would have to agree with the others whom recommended the nugget but i'd suggest visiting the nugget for a night or two and staying on the strip.

each time i've stayed at a property off the strip i've regretted it.

worth the extra bucks in my opinion. (monorail access will save you in taxi fee's alone)
I would suggest the Monte Carlo if you want to be on the strip.

If you want to be in old vegas the Golden Nugget is the best.

Here are some coupons codes for Monte Carlos:

the Nugget just completed a complete overhaul and is looking good....the old Vegas downtown

Monte Carlo is strip and newer and a nice place. just depends on if you want strip or downtown?.

younger crowd at MC
The Golden Nugget is awesome. They have revamped it. It's one of my favorite hotels in Vegas, followed by the Bellagio.
Monte Carlo on the Las Vegas strip! The Golden Nugget does have a fabulous new pool with shark tanks throughout but its downtown Las Vegas which isn't up to par with the strip.
Golden Nugget hands down !!

Besides there is a lot of construction around Monte Carlo. If you decide to stay at MC be sure to ask for a room away from the construction.
Nugget is more luxurious, but Monteo Carlo has a better location and more things to do.
