Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?

Please answer ONLY if you've been. In Oct. of this year my hubby %26amp; I are going to Vegas primarily to see the NHRA races for 3 days, but also to stay a couple more days and see Vegas (we like slots but don't really play the other card/dice games). I know GN is older but we'll have a car, etc and I have read several reviews online which sound good. Anyone know first hand???? If it was a bad experience, was it just that you had bad luck or have you heard others say the same? THANKS.Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?
Two main reasons for staying at the Golden Nugget. 1. The pool 2. It's classic Vegas. Now I don't know if the pool will be open in October. The rooms are nice. It depends on what you are looking for in a hotel. Price, class, area...that all affects which hotel is the right one for you.
I stayed for one night and it was fine. There was some nearby construction noise, but the AC drowned it out. I say go for it, the price is right, and if you're not big gamblers, you won't mind being a few miles from ther Strip. Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?
think holiday inn style rooms with gambling,

i really wasnt too impressed i mean it's not dumpy or anything

it's just an average hotel room with a casino, i dont know what your really looking for so i cant help you out much beyond that, it was fine for 3 ,23 y/o guys on a drinking binge

and was one of the better ones i guess for the price even though after some looking later on for another trip , we found rooms at the mirage or whatever it's called for the same price so i wouldnt low ball your self till you've checked the other ones out as well , have a good time oh and if you feel like it take a drive out to red rocks! it's a real easy 15 min drive to the north and some real cool scencery, have a good trip
The Golden Nugget is a very nice four star hotel with all of the amenities you would expect from one. The hotel lobby and main hallways are dominated my brass, marble and etched glass.

I highly doubt you are going to find a Holiday Inn that has won AAA's, "four Diamond Award" 30 consecutive years.

The South Tower rooms are very nice, but if you want an upgrade go with the North Tower rooms.

The GN has always had a nice pool area but the new "Shark Tank" is too cool.

If you're a Bread Pudding lover you have to try the GN's buffet. Their Bread Pudding is a LV legend.

We play video poker the vast majority of the time and we enjoyed playing the 10/7 DB at the GN. Unfortunately when we were there last December those machines had been removed, so we played elsewhere.

The GN does have 8/5 BP(99.2%) and a special version of 8/5 BP that pays a bonus for certain Flush hands(99.8%) %26gt;These would be the machines I would play if you like the GN and would like to get free room offers from them in the future.

The GN's "24 Karat Club" is a very good slot club and their marketing offers are among the best for us low rollers. %26gt;They usually give you $10 in free slot play for a new sign up.

If they're giving away free money, by all means take it(sign up). %26gt;Sometimes, depending on your level of play it's best to combine your play and have both of you play on one account. If your level of play is high enough, then it's best to have each of you play on separate accounts, that way you would get twice as many free night offers.

LV hotel reviews.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. Main Street Station is our favorite downtown hotel/casino but we have spent a lot of time at the Golden Nugget, you're going to love it.

P.S. %26gt;Our very first trip to LV was spent at the Golden Nugget.
