Nutrafin max for bottom feeders, these are also great tablets, these are more healthier ones, as they are full of other vitamins and minerals that your plecos require.
I hope i helped :)What should i feed my golden nugget plec?
Plecs like to bottom feed so to give them a chance at some food, you need to feed sinking plant pellets/wafers and even algae wafers. However like a lot of fish you need to give them a more varied diet. If you can get any to them without your other fish gobbling the lot then they will also like to eat meatier foods too like brine shrimp and bloodworms (live or frozen). Some will even take to a stray flake food or two if they aren't too fussy.
All the above are available from any fish store but you can also feed your plec stuff you may find in your fridge like cucumber, zuccini, spinach, romano lettuce and de-shelled peas. Some will even like banana but dont leave this for long in the tank because it will turn the water murky. Plecs can take up to 12 to eat some foods like these whilst they mush up a bit and you can speed up this process by microwaving them in a bowl of water or boiling them first
golden nuggets aren't huge algae munchers, they much prefer a meatier diet of catfish wafers, bloodworm and other meaty treats. they may nibble some soft algaes and bogwood, but definitely won't put any kind of dent in an algae explosion. bogwood is fairly essential in all plecos diet to aide digestion. What should i feed my golden nugget plec?
they are bottom feeders so are better with catfish food they are algea feeders so algae wafers or pellets that sink are best weight some cucumber down in the tank they love it but remove it after 2 days because it softens and breaks up . they certainly grow quickly if you give it to them once a week.
they will suck algae and stuff off the glass and decor, some species (don't know if gn is one of them) like to scrape driftwood with their suction mouths and get the fibers or something, but if theres not enough algae they like algae wafers, those can be bought at most pet stores.
Plec tablets, algae wavers, weighted down cucumber.
When they are small they are good glass cleaners, but that drops off as they grow.
Bogwood is a good idea for all plec's, the fungus that grows on it aids their digestion.
