It's a nice hotel. And the beds are very comfortable, at least in my room they were. It's very fancy, but not exactly luxurious. The rooms are renovated and have nice, comfortable features.



The nicest place downtown, but not on the strip.
The Golden Nugget is actually down on Freemont street, it's an easy ride on the duce- the double decker bus that is $5 bucks for 24 hours worth of rides- it's near bennions, plaza, I'm sure there are others I'm just not sure what else is down there. I stayed at the plaza, it's a definate party area because the whole freemont area is pedestrian only, there are bands and stuff going on all the time, and drinks everywhere, 1/2 yards of margaritas and whatnot. it's worth the stay if you're looking for something a little cheaper and with that old vegas feeHas anyone stayed at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas? I stayed there, but that was before it was redecorated. I did visit a couple of months ago, and the renovations are really nice. It's the most luxurious hotel Downtown, and an easy walk to the Fremont, 4 Queens, Golden Gate, Plaza, Fitzgeralds...everything Downtown is an easy walk. But it's a 5-10 minute ride to the Strip, depending on the traffic. The Strip is about 4 miles long and has terrible traffic almost all the time, so it can take an hour to travel! But it has all the great sightseeing: Caesars Palace, Paris, New York New York, Mirage, ...if you don't want to take taxis or rent a car, use the Deuce (double deck bus) or the trolley. They both stop at all the major hotels up and down the Strip. The Deuce also stops Downtown.
I have stayed at the Golden Nugget. It has been recently renovated and I have heard that the upgrades are very nice. The hotel in NOT on the strip. 4 Queens is right next door and the Freemont Hotel is right across the street. It is located on Freemont Street. All of the hotels downtown are within walking distance of each other. The hotel is the nicest of all the hotels downtown and I plan on staying there in the future. Very nice!
I have not stayed at the Golden Nuggets but recently some friends came into town and stayed there. They liked it although they complained the beds were not comfortable. I visited and loved their pool! They re-did it and made it (in my opinion) one of the best pools in Vegas! The slide is a good time.

No, it is not on the strip it is off of Fremont Street. Its close to the strip in a taxi or bus.

the golden nugget is not on the strip its located in downtown las vegas which is just a few blocks away from the strip...its a pretty casino and its next to fitzgeralds. Downtown is known for the Fremont street experience, which is fun to see.
