Has any1 been to the Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver? If so is it worth visiting?

I will be visiting Denver this summer %26amp; I live in Houston. We don't have amusement parks anymore except for Splashtown which is too far %26amp; Shlitterbahn in Galveston which sux!Has any1 been to the Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver? If so is it worth visiting?
I like Elitchs' and you can go into the waterpark with your admission. It's not as good as say "Magic Mountain." But Mind Eraser and "flying one" and the "skateboard one" and the woodenm one...(OMG it's been 2 years since we went)are really cool. Plus you'll be in the middle of Denver where you can go to downtown (which has the Hard Rock Cafe) Coors Field, Pepsi Center and Invernes Stadium.
elitch's is officially a 6 flags theme park now but, comparing it to the other 6 flags parks through out the US, elitch's is lame. comparisons aside, if you're looking for something to do in denver, it's not bad.

regarding texas parks... i grew up there so, i remember schliterbahn in san marcos which was pretty cool. what about water world and astro world in houston. there's was also 6 flags in dallas. texas has or at least had much better amusement parks than denverHas any1 been to the Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver? If so is it worth visiting?
Actually, Elitch Gardens is no longer a 6 Flags park. It was sold to CNL after last season, so a 6 Flags annual pass will no longer get you in.

It's not a huge park, but it's OK. There are 7 roller coasters. By far, the best IMO are the Twister, an old-school wooden coaster, and Mind Eraser, a suspended looping coaster. The others are OK, but nothing special.

Their websire is:

For more information about the park.
it really depends on what you are into...i live in denver, and i am not really a ride person, so i don't go very often!!! also, its very expensive($40 per person)!!!! if you don't like roller coasters very much, then i would go to water world!!! its awesome!!! and at water world, you can bring your lunch into the park!!!
i luv the elitches!!! its sooo much fun!!!! for me anyway cuz ill go on pretty much any ride. and it bout the only theme park ive been to but i love it and would go anyday theres a water park there too but it kinda stinks. roller coasters-theres a wooden one which is sooo much fun and mind eraser is fun you like sit and there loops and corkscrews and stuff. theres the sidewinder thats just a loop that you do forward and backwards. boomerang is kool everyone says but i havent done it. if u do it u should go middle of september for haunted house that fun if u ccan. if u go then go during the week so its les crowded and shorter lines. on weekends it packed like 40 min in line on big roller coasters also the water world is fun here.
Yes elitches is soooo worth visiting.its a water park and amusment park combined. the rollercoasters are kinda aged, and the place is filthy, but the rides are awsome!!!!!!! I suggest the mind eraser.http://www.sixflags.com/national/index.a鈥?/a>
It pretty good i think the rides are very well based not to many extreme rides and not a lot of kiddies ride

there is not any in the main park I like it very much

It just like your regular theme clean

The lines are kind of long
OMG i was there today. its pretty cool. it is no longer sixflags but yeah go to thier website to learn about their park. i really recommend all their rides. the best is tower of doom.
elitch gardens is worth visiting ~ they brought back a ride called the chaos ~ and on some rides you can see denver for miles ~ we also have a waterworld ~ and at elitch's they have so many new things like you can go into this building and see a kind of acrobatic show its really cool

it is not a six flags amusement park so you will not get in with a season pass ~ you can get coupons at some places to get in cheaper

hope this helps
yeah...its fun, nothing special.
Its okay to visit once but not worth going back to. You get free admission to the water park which is good because there's not enough to do in the main park for a whole day. I'm a total amusement park junkie so i'm pretty critical about the fun factor. Often the longest lines are in the water park area. So if you want to visit once you'll probably have a good time but definitly not one of the better amusement parks in my opinion.
I have never been to this Elitch Gardens nor do I have a burning desire to. I liked it when it was in North Denver. That's where we spent our summers growing up. This one is not much bigger and in the center of the city. I've heard there are gang problems there but it seems there are those stupid problems everywhere you turn these days. I don't know but let me know if you enjoy it. I might take the family there this year.
Elitch Gardens is a pretty fun theme park I like it a lot. It's actually almost identical to Canada's Wonderland, in Ontario, in that it has a LOT of very very similar rides. I had a blast at both parks. They're a lot of fun. The rides aren't too extreme but definitely still enjoyable. My faves are: Disaster Canyon, Shipwreck Falls, The Mind Eraser, The Tower of Doom, and The Halfpipe.

If you're looking for super extreme, they have something known as the Xcelr8r, or something like that. It's a big bungee cord swing sort of thing. I've never been on it, because it costs extra and no one will do it with me, but I've always wanted to!!!
