Is it indoors or outdoors?
Anything you can tell me about the hotel would be great!Las Vegas Golden Nugget pool question?
It's outdoors. it's just in the middle of the hotel. Really cool pool. Didn't get to swim in it b/c it was too cold when we went.
outside surrounded by hotel and casino buildingsLas Vegas Golden Nugget pool question?
It is an outdoor pool...very nice one. It is in the middle of the casino with ceiling to floor windows so everyone inside the casino can check you out at the pool.

Whats the golden nugget?
what does nugget mean i need to do this for homework i cant find an answer im in sixth grade im 11Whats the golden nugget?
It could be symbolism for finding something you are searching for. Sort of like the prize. Like the '49'ers when they went West, searching for gold in California. The Golden Nugget is also a saloon name.
nug路get (n怒g'沫t)
n.
A small, solid lump, especially of gold.
A small compact portion or unit: nuggets of information.Whats the golden nugget?
it might have to do with history and mining
A nugget is a chunk of gold as it is found naturally in the earth. It will have a very uneven shape; but that doesn't matter because it will be melted down and poured into a mould so that its shape becomes what the goldsmith requires.

Old town Las Vegas.. how is the Golden Nugget ?
I will be heading out to Vegas for a family reunion this July :) That being said I will be staying at the Golden Nugget. How far away is the 4 Queens from the Nugget? How nice is the Golden Nuggets pool? I heard it was an amazing place to stay and the pool is to die for. Please helpOld town Las Vegas.. how is the Golden Nugget ?
I didn't stay at the Golden Nugget, I stayed at the Plaza, which is right across the street. I ate at the breakfast buffet, which was alright for the price. The pool is really cool. They have sharks swimming in the aquarium right in front of the pool. The casino was nice too so I am guessing the rooms were pretty nice too. The Four Queens is just a walk right out the door.
Very near one another.
GM has the worst food in town. At at the buffet and my dog at home gets better food than served in this palce. Help is awful and in general it is a disappointment.
I do not hate on my city, but the GN is one of the worst places to stay on a visit.Old town Las Vegas.. how is the Golden Nugget ?
4 queens and golden nugget across the street. from each other.
gold nugget has a great pool, the only 4 star hotel on fremont, golden nugget,
and it is as nice as mgm mirage.
The Nugget pool is fantastic and has a slide. BTW not old town by Downtown You are across the street from Queens
Viva Las Vegas !

Which Hotel is better: Golden Nugget VS Luxor - Aug-18-23?
Hey guyz,
Plz help me out! Me and my friends will be in Las Vegas in mid aug. Got mixed reviews from people about construction going on in Luxor or Golden Nugget rooms not that clean?
I can only afford to book a standard room in either one of them. Which one do you suggest in terms of (non-smoking) cleanliness right now (Aug - month).
thanks!!! :)Which Hotel is better: Golden Nugget VS Luxor - Aug-18-23?
there are better hotels. try getting a coupon from here - http://www.ilasvegascoupons.com/
Both are nice hotels but Luxor is on THE Strip which Nugget is Downtown. Luxor is next to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur (castle) connected by free tram or indoor walkway. Across one corner is Tropicana, another is MGM Grand, and other is NYNY and Monte Carlo. I loved staying at Luxor.
What construction at Luxor?
IF you check in and find a room not clean, you call housekeeping and they will immediately send someone to clean whatever you found wrong (been there on vacations elsewhere).Which Hotel is better: Golden Nugget VS Luxor - Aug-18-23?
We just stayed at the Luxor and it was awesome. There is some construction, but you hardly notice it. Never made it to the LAX nightclub, but there was always a huge crowd waiting to get in. The pool area is nice and the casino is a lot of fun. You can easily visit the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay since they are connected. On our last day we spent our entire time hanging out in the hotels. And best of all, it's on the strip and if you want to get around the Deuce bus stops right in front of the Luxor, you can't beat $5 for a 24 hour pass. Good luck and have fun!
I stayed at the Golden Nugget while in Vegas and I really enjoyed the rooms! The room was clean, nice amenities and well sized.
My travel agent suggested it and I will definably stay there again in October when I return. You get the luxury of the strip with the comfort of Old Vegas.
I LOVED IT THERE!
I would defiantly choose the Luxor. The Luxor is located on the main strip and the Golden Nugget is downtown. There is also a tram that runs from Luxor to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay that's free. There is some construction going on, but its not too bad. Luxor is a very clean hotel and Ive had great customer service there. Check out this link, you might be able to get a good deal at the Luxor - http://clk.atdmt.com/MGM/go/pblsrmgm1870鈥?/a>
I like both hotels honestly but if you get an opportunity to stay on the Vegas strip, take it. The cost of going from Golden Nugget to the strip everyday will wipe out what ever your saved by staying downtown. Here are some Luxor deals. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.h鈥?/a>
I would choose the Luxor because it is on the Las Vegas strip. Perhaps you have also the chance to get a good promotion. Try http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find there Luxor hotel promotions and promotions for other hotels as well.

LUXOR is about 50 years younger and the rooms at the Nugget are about 50 times scummier! I worked at the Nugget.
THe Luxor! While its a bit pricier the nugget is in downtown old las vegas which is a bit sketych and SCARY.
LUXOR?
I would choose the Luxor
I have stayed at both several times and I have not been disapointed at either .
Golden Nugget is as you know downtown which is very different to the Strip I would not say its worse just different and if you have not been to Vegas you are probably better on the Strip. The GN i snot like other downtown hotels its liek a strip hotel great pool with the sharks in it and lovely rooms, godo buffet but the tables have Strip limits and of course everything is smaller. The rooms are lovely canopy's over the beds (thanks Mr Wynn) with nice fittings and you are never too far from the elevators.
The Luxor is fine there was still construction work when I was there in Feb but it looked like the worse of it was finished, its a strip location and has a lot to do and its pretty cool to stay in a pyramid. The rooms are big and have a batheroom with a large shower but no tub and sloping windows the fittings are not as nice as the GN but you are on the Strip.
I have to say if i am going for say 7 days I will try to spend two down town at the GN but any less than that and its 100% Strip for me. THere are some other hotels that you could stay in on the Striup for the same or less than Luxor
Excalibur - I like it I wills aty here the loaction is better than Luxor and the rooms about the same from $51 with a free room upgrade and $25 of dining credit https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/booki鈥?/a>
Monte Carlo has some good offers too with some good extras must be booked by 29th https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/booki鈥?/a>

When did Golden Nugget in A.C. become Bally Grand and after that A. C. Hilton?

AC Golden Nugget sold to Bally's in 1986/1987.
Hilton bought Bally's in 1996, then spun them off to Park Place/Caesars Entertainment until it was sold to Colony Capital (current owner of Resorts) in compliance with the Harrah's merger last year.

I am going in June. Just want to hear from someone who has stayed there recently.I want to know about the Golden Nugget in Vegas. They are renovating now. It is noisy, messy, etc. Thanks?
It's not noisy or messy right now. But who knows what they'll be working on by June.
Also unless you really like staying in Downtown Las Vegas, I would suggest staying on "The Strip" instead.I want to know about the Golden Nugget in Vegas. They are renovating now. It is noisy, messy, etc. Thanks?
I prefer to stay on the strip also, but the Golden Nugget's rooms are very nice and comfortable. And the staff is very friendly as well. Also the Prime Rib there is excellent.muffler bully dog

From airport to golden nugget hotel: shuttle or taxi?
best way to arrive to golden nugget from airportFrom airport to golden nugget hotel: shuttle or taxi?
Shuttle...for taxi it'll cost you more due to traffic. Unless you're very lucky to get a kick azz driver who knows what they're doing and knows the back and fasts way to get there in a jiffy.
some do yes, but ask the shuttle info for where they're going or how far. most of the time if it's not too much trouble they'll be nice enough to drop you off in front of the hotel or a short desdent :)
I agree with "Aubrey A"
A 24 hour CAT/Deuce bus pass only costs $7
You can take either the #108 Paradise or #109 Maryland Pkwy North* bus to downtown %26gt;Unless they have changed the routes%26lt;. I have driven out the past 3 years and haven't taken the bus in a while.
*The #109 Maryland Parkway South bus goes out to the South Strip Transportation Terminal. Which if you're arriving after dark and want a cool view of the strip isn't such a bad way to go either. Because you can transfer to the Deuce(double decker strip bus). It's generally pretty empty at that point so you can take one of the prime seats on the upper level in front. You will have a great view of the hotels/lights/etc as this bus takes you downtown.
Bus - at the airport go to "Ground Level Transportation 0" which is on your right as you approach the baggage claim area. The bus stop is just out the door and to your right. They used to stop about every 5 minutes, the bus is never crowded. Since the only riders are generally airport employees. Either bus takes about 45 minutes. %26gt;I have waited much longer than that just to catch a cab at the airport%26lt; The only hitch to this plan is the bus only allows carry-on luggage, but if you travel light, this is the best way to go IMO
If you take a cab and if they rip you off(McCarran to downtown %26gt;like they did my brother 2 months ago%26lt; At least be smarter than he was. Have the TA phone number on you 1-702-668-4000 do not pay the fare. Call the TA from the cab. The cabbie can get fined or his license suspended for "long hauling" a fare.
Out of those two a shuttle would definitely be cheaper. It would only run about $7 each way so $14 total. A cab would cost at least $36 and that is if the taxi driver doesn't try to long haul you in order to charge you more.
But the best option would be to take public transportation from the airport straight to downtown. See here http://www.rtcsnv.com/transit/route/108/鈥?/a> Fremont St is the downtown stop you want to take. Bus route #108 will take you straight downtown and will get you there in about 45 minutes. The cost would only be $5 each way.
I just returned from Vegas.... I took a taxi from the airpot to The Wynn.. it cost $17.... dont take the Tunnel, use Paradise Rd to avoid main Strip.. after a long flight, it is nice to relax and take a cab. good luck and take lots of CASH.

Should I stay at the golden nugget, hooters, excalibur?
I have to agree with baludwig in that it depends on what you're looking for. Of the three, I'd say the Golden Nugget is the nicest. Personally I wouldn't go to any of the big hotel/casinos to stay unless they were comping me though. Station Casinos and Arizona Charlie's are the two chains in Vegas that have reasonable prices, and you can always go from there to the strip or to the three you mentioned in your question to gamble and see the shows....
Oh, avoid the Coast Casino chain, as they like to rip their customers off. Just my own personal experience...Should I stay at the golden nugget, hooters, excalibur?
How did you come up with those three choices?
Hooters is kind of a dump for college kids who want to fantasize about Hooters girls, off the strip on Tropicana Ave. Excalibur is a family oriented budget property on the south strip. Golden Nugget is a luxury resort but over 2 miles off the strip on Fremont Street.
It's three totally different experiences. Golden Nugget is by far the nicest place but will also be the most expensive and is also not even close to the strip.
If cost is a concern and you want to stay on the strip, I suggest either Mandalay Bay or Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon. These are the two best values for your money on the strip. Mandalay Bay is very upscale and luxurious; Bill's is less expensive and less luxurious but is the best of the budget properties. I stayed at Bill's for my 19th trip to Las Vegas and I was impressed with the room. Not the property itself, just the room.
Not Excalibur. My husband and I stayed there and hated it. Its on the farthest end of the strip, you have to navigate a convoluted route just to get to a bus terminal, the place was dingy, and the time share people are worse than anyone else.
My husband and I stayed there because it was cheap. We didn't think anything of it when we booked it, because we aren't snobby when it comes to places. We figured we hardly spent time in the hotel anyway, so it didn't matter. We were wrong. I would rather cut my vacation short and pay extra anywhere else rather than go back there again!
I've never been to Hooters, but I'd recommend the Golden Nugget. People always say how far away Fremont is. It's true you have to take a bus, but quite honestly, unless you are into paying outrageous prices for everything, Fremont is a better place to stay. Since they are older hotels, they tend to give more perks, the food is cheaper, they have the old slots that actually drop coins, everything is closer, and in general, you have better luck gambling. You just need to buy a bus pass for unlimited rides in a 24hr time to and from the strip.
My husband and I are going in June and we are staying at the Fitzgeralds.Should I stay at the golden nugget, hooters, excalibur?
Depends on what you are looking for, but excalibure has the best location in regards to the strip out of the three, but was always geared more towards kids. Hooters isn't too far off the strip, but I always here that place is going to close. Golden Nugget will give you an old Vegas experience being right on the Freemont Street Experience with plenty of casinos in stumbling distance.
If I had to choose though, I would go for Excalibur just becuase of location.
The Golden Nugget is the nicest hotel downtown. Excaibur has downplayed the King Arthur/Merlin fantasy them but still caters to families with kids. I wouldn't even consider Hooters.

There is no cover, just a one drink minimum.
Golden Nugget Fitness Center?
I am staying at the Golden Nugget in a day or so and I was wondering about their fitness center. The website shows a 20 dollar a day fee to use the facility but I was wondering if that was just to people that were not staying at the hotel or for anyone?
I'd love to work off the buffets while staying there but not for 20 bucks a day.
Anyone familiar with that?
Thanks!!Golden Nugget Fitness Center?
You do have to be a guest of the hotel to use the fitness area, but believe me you get a lot more for your 20 bucks than just an exercise room. They have all sorts of free health drinks like mineral water and tea and juice, free fruit and snacks, fresh towels and robes, and all sorts of beauty supplies stocked in both mens and womens areas (shaving creams, shampoos, soaps, razors, lotions, combs, and such) that are free for you to use once you pay the fee. There's a comfortable lounge in the area with a wide selection of magazines and newspapers, a steam room and spa, and showers that shoot 8 jets of water at you from all sides.
It's actually very worth it to use it! And if you purchase an extra service like a massage or facial, they don't stack the $20 "use fee" on top of it...their costs for their spa services has the day use fee already included.Golden Nugget Fitness Center?
The fitness center is extra but if you Gamble enough they will comp you just about anything you want including your Buffets. i don't know what games you play but descent comps start at 25.00 bets per hand a round for table games or 10 hours at the dollar slots a day no slacking. personally i have had comps add up to totally free weekends including the Room without loosing any money at the tables but always remember Only take what you can afford to lose. and have a great trip and be sure to walk the Strip and see all the sights and GOOD LUCK

Is the Golden Nugget on the strip?
No. It's downtown.
Downtown is much better than its reputation. The games are the same, minimums are lower, the lights at night are great, it is safe (as long as you stay under the Fremont St. canopy and you don't walk your feet off.
The Nugget is the best hotel, but there is nothing wrong with the 4 Queens, Vegas Club, Main Street Station or the California.
Don't miss shooting craps at the Golden Gate and Binions.
Try the .99 Shrimp Cocktail at the Golden Gate.Is the Golden Nugget on the strip?
nope., downtown
DowntownIs the Golden Nugget on the strip?
No, it's downtown.....
The Golden Nugget is Downtown. It has been sold since Steve Wynn owned it to two dot-commers who then sold it two years later to a restaurant chain owned by the Ferritata family.
Golden nugget is down there by the Freemont Experience, old Vegas. Its in a cool area. If you want something lower priced on the strip on the N end try Circus Circus or the Startosphere.
I am so sorry my yahoo friend but it is downtown.
This is in the old section of gaming houses and about 2 miles from the Strip.
No, it is downtown. If you are planning on going down to Fremont Street from the Strip, you should buy a day pass for The Deuce.
As everyone else has stated, the Golden Nugget is located Downtown on Fremont Street. It is the only 4 start property downtown. Here is a site that give you quite a bit more information on the Golden Nugget.

Should I stay at the Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Imperial palace in vegas?
Stay at the Imperial Palace, it is in the center of the strip and cheaper. The Golden Nugget is downtown and a two mile bus ride to the south strip and the Tropicana can get a bit pricey for just a room.Should I stay at the Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Imperial palace in vegas?
Golden Nugget is nice, but it's not on the strip, which is where all the action is. Imperial Palace has a great location, but it's a pretty dowdy place. Tropicana just finished major renovations and looks great; it also has a really nice pool area. Its location isn't as good as IP, but it's not bad at all. So I would definitely choose Tropicana.
Out of those three I would definitely say Tropicana. They just got done renovating all of the rooms and they are all nice, modern and bright now. The location is good too, far enough to not be right in the middle of things but still close enough to walk to anything you would need to see.
The Golden Nugget I have heard is really nice, but it is downtown, which means you would have to rely on bus fare to get to the strip. Personally, I spend all of my time on the strip and make one special trip downtown during my stays so buying bus passes would not be cost effective for me.
Imperial Palace is right in the center of everything on the strip, behind Harrah's, but it is kind of a dump. In that case there is a reason the rates get so low. I have heard it compared to a Motel 6.Should I stay at the Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Imperial palace in vegas?
Tropicana Definitely. Its an ok room. Nothing fancy- But why need a fancy room when you're in VEGAS!?!
Tropicana is in the middle of everything.. all the entertainment, all the modern big casinos. Its in walking distance to everything.
Golden Nugget is in a totally different part of town. Its called downtown but it is where Las Vegas started in like 1920. Its still fun. but you wont see all the stuff they show on tv.
So New Vegas (Tropicana) or Old Vegas (Golden Nugget)?
hi brian, tropicana just remodeled and on the strip. imperial palace kind of a dump, golden
nugget nice but on fremont and you would need a bus to get to the strip, it would not
take long for downtown vegas to the strip is about 3 miles, but if you want the strip,
tropicana.
Tropicana, Newly renovated and in the center of everything, its a nice hotel at a great price. There are promotions currently running at the Tropicana. Check out the link below for more information. Have fun!

I want to know if my baby golden nugget pleco will be eaten by my three baby african clawed frogs ?
I don't think so. African dwarf frogs typically go after smaller prey, and I've housed plecos with dwarfs before. Keep an eye on them, but you should be fine.
Las vegas airport to golden nugget?
hello, i will be flying in to vegas tuesday april 12 at 7.00 pm. what is the best way to get to the golden nugget downtown, it will be the first time me and my wife ever been there before. it is her b-day and we want to get to the hotel, thank you for your helpLas vegas airport to golden nugget?
TAKE a limo! It will run you around 40 bucks but it will be way worth it!
The best thing to do is rent a car. It will be cheaper in the long run to rent a car than to take taxis If it's your wifes first time in Vegas, take the Strip straight down to the Golden Nugget.Las vegas airport to golden nugget?
That's about a 7 mile trip, take a taxi, cost should be $21 to $23

You should consider hitchhiking.

New Shark Pool at Golden Nugget Las Vegas?
Can anyone who has been there tell me about it firsthand?
ThanksNew Shark Pool at Golden Nugget Las Vegas?
I have been. Its a pool with a shark tank raised up in the middle. There is a slide through the shark tank too. Probably the coolest hotel pool in vegas at present
Take a look yourself

The "Shark Tank" is a pretty cool concept. It's like "rossie" said, there is a long slide that goes right through the shark "aquarium" - IMO the only negative is that the pool area is a little on the small side and feels crowded.
The GN now has an interesting pool area but in no way would I call it one of the top 10 in LV

Caesars Palace
MGM
Monte Carlo
Flamingo
Mirage
Wynn
Luxor

Tropicana

Not about at the golden nugget, maybe your thinking of mandalay bay where they have the shark reef encounter.
But I left Vegas 6 years ago so it's possible!

Is there a shuttle in Vegas that can take you from The Golden Nugget to the Strip?
Yes, a bus (called the Deuce) runs from the south end of the main strip to the Freemont Experience (where the Golden Nugget is). It costs $2 for a one way trip or $5 for a day pass. The busses are double decker and very clean. They run 24/7, approx every 15 min depending on what time of day.Is there a shuttle in Vegas that can take you from The Golden Nugget to the Strip?

I'm going to Las vegas in June should i stay at the Golden Nugget or the Flamingo?
The Golden Nugget is a better deal for the money but then you will have to take the bus to the Vegas strip. Both properties have great pools but the pool at Golden Nugget is one of the best in Las Vegas.I'm going to Las vegas in June should i stay at the Golden Nugget or the Flamingo?
Flamingo is a perfectly fine option, with a great location in the center of the strip. The rooms are nothing special, but they aren't bad at all.
Golden Nugget is a nice place, but it's downtown, which is not walking distance to the strip. You'd have to take a bus, taxi, or drive if you'll have a car. The downtown area is more "old" Vegas and much more low-key than the strip.
It really depends on what you plan to do and where you want to be. If you plan to be on the strip for most of your trip, then you may as well stay there. But if you aren't into all that and want a more relaxed experience, then Golden Nugget might be a better bet for you.
The Flamingo is in the center of the Strip, but it's not one of the newer hotels on the Strip or the nicest. The Golden Nugget's new addtions are newer and it's the nicest hotel in the Downtown section of Las Vegas (adjacent to the Fremont Street Experience overhead light show that occurs in the evenings).
If you don't feel you need to be on the Strip, the Nugget is very nice. By the way, I advise all visitors to avoid a game called "6 to 5" Blackjack (signs are on the tables saying this). It is a ripoff galore. Blackjack naturals always used to pay $15 if a person bet $10,. With "6 to 5" it's $12.I'm going to Las vegas in June should i stay at the Golden Nugget or the Flamingo?
If it's your first time, the answer has to be the Flamingo. Most of what you're going to want to see on your trip is within walking distance.
If you've done the strip before, I'd recommend the Nugget. Better rooms for the same price, better gambling, better pool and better restaurants. The Flamingo is fine, but the Golden Nugget outshines it in every respect except location.
It really depends what you want to do. If you like the oldschool nature of downtown, then definitely Golden Nugget. If you want to be central on the strip like I usually am, then definitely Flamingo. Both hotels are good, but Flamingo is one of my favorites. If you can afford it, get a go room. The atmosphere is always great there and I love the dealers and poker room. Also, it's right next to BIll's for some cheap, fun gambling and karoake, lol.

the Golden Nugget the reviews on the Flamingo are not so great and i've seen the rooms myself and they're not the best thing
If you don't mind paying a bit extra, stay at the Golden Nugget. If you'd rather save a bit of money or stay on the Strip, then go with Flamingo. Personally, I'd go with the Golden Nugget.

How is the Golden Nugget?
Is it nice? I'm thinking about staying there, but I keep bouncing back and forth... I just don't know where to stay for under $100. =(How is the Golden Nugget?
The Golden Nugget is downtown. Old downtown.
I'd rather stay off strip at the Orleans which has great clean rooms, convenient parking, etc. I also like South Point, which is new and very nice..

and possibly win a 2 night stay at the New York New York and tickets to Zumanity.
Old downtown is not nearly as nice as the strip, but it is a lot cheaper. The Nugget has a pretty nice pool and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is worth staying there if you do not plan to go to the strip a lot. The cab rides from the Nugget to the Luxor/Excalibur, NYNY area and back can get expensive. Personally, I just pay a little extra to stay at the MGM, or Excalibur if money is tight, and stick to the strip. How is the Golden Nugget?
If you go Sun thru Thurs. a hundred bucks gives you a lot of options.
It's good. Everytime I go to McDonald's and get some golden chicken McNuggets, they're delicious.
The Golden Nugget is the best tasting food that you can buy at a McDonald's. They sell them in a 4-piece, 6-piece,
10-piece, and a 20-piece.
For under $100 I'm sure you might be able to find a room on the strip at the Tropicana or Sahara. Check them out.
I've been to Las Vegas several times, and all but once, I've stayed at the Golden Nugget. I like that everything is in walking distance. The Strip is okay too, but you really do a lot of walking, or taking shuttles. I have not been since they 'redid' Downtown, so I'm not as up to date as others might be.merchants tire spanish translation online

Should I stay at the sahara Hotel, Golden nugget or Imperial palace give pro and cons will give 10 points for?
most detail answerShould I stay at the sahara Hotel, Golden nugget or Imperial palace give pro and cons will give 10 points for?
golden nugget is the best of the 3 but of course it's downtown and that's absolutely not the best location these days. It is perfectly connected to the Strip with the Express bus but I would always prefer the Strip unless I were on a really tight budget.
The problem is that Sahara is a dump, literally (and the location is not that much better since it's North Strip), though they do have fabulous slot tournaments we always go to. But for food and anything else you'll have to walk towards mid-strip.
Imperial Palace is another dump but the location, being mid strip, is much better. However, it is at the BACK of the Strip and it's a labyrinth inside, and not a pleasant one.
If you care about the room you are in then Golden Nugget is the only solution out of the 3. Otherwise the 2 dumps on the Strip are equal, but Imperial Palace as a small edge on the location
Golden Nugget's only con is it's location downtown, and that's only a con if you're planning on touring the strip. Otherwise you have four-star hotel rooms, an excellent pool, great restaurants and a classy casino. Especially if you're driving, this is by far the best option of the three.
Imperial Palace's biggest pro is it's location, right in the middle of the strip and within easy walking distance of most of the strip's attractions. It's also the cheapest hotel (price and quality) in that area. The rooms are sparse, the pool is just a rectangle of water, and the parking lot is truly awful to navigate around. If you plan to spend a lot of time at your hotel, you don't want to stay here.
The Sahara has gone downhill in the last few years. It is not within walking distance of anything worth while (unless you count the World's Largest Souvenir Shop across the street), it's down to two restaurants and they've closed two of the three towers. The pool is large but nothing spectacular. It's biggest plus is that it has a monorail station to take you down to the rest of the strip.
If those are your only three options, GN's the best value as long as you don't mind driving to go sightseeing. (One-way cab fare to the strip at night will be more expensive than renting a car for the whole day). IP has location and low price going for it, but that's it. The Sahara has, well, a lower price, but not much else.Should I stay at the sahara Hotel, Golden nugget or Imperial palace give pro and cons will give 10 points for?
Forget the Sahara and Imperial Palace.
Either stay at Bill's on the strip, or Golden Nugget if you prefer downtown.
Imperial Palace is a dump, Sahara is in the middle of nowhere. Golden Nugget is the only upscale downtown property. If you want to spend 12 hours a day gambling at Binions, Gold Spike and El Cortez but want better quality lodging, this is the strategy.
Bill's is on the center strip and is a downtown style budget property except their rooms are spectacular for the price. I paid $40 for a room at Bill's and liked it just as much as the $129 room I had at Mandalay Bay the previous year.
If you're a hardcore gambler, go to Golden Nugget. If you want the "Las Vegas experience" go to Bills. Although, for the price of Golden Nugget, you might be able to upgrade to Wynn or Venetian.
I've visited Las Vegas 19 times, Sahara is at the north end of the strip, IP is center strip. That other guy has no clue what he's talking about.
If you've never been to Vegas, stat at Imperial Palace. It has the best location of the three.

Airport to the Golden Nugget?
How much is a cab ride from the Las Vegas Airport to the Golden Nugget Hotel - downtown Las Vegas?
I do not want to take a shuttle bus - I want to take a cab.Airport to the Golden Nugget?
I have taken the cab from the airport to the Golden Nugget last year. If I remember it correctly it was over $30 dollars. I gave the driver $40.00 that included a tip.
As a Former Cab Driver in Las Vegas I know the exact price. It will cost you about $27 USD. But becarful, a lof of Cab Drivers take the Airport Tunnel that will raise the fair to incredible $35 - $40 USD. Tell the Cab Driver right away that you want to take the Strip (a lof of Traffic, but cheaper). If you really don't care, then say nothing and let suprise you. Just a nice Warning.Airport to the Golden Nugget?
maybe $20- for this ride.
$20-$30
Probably about $25-$30. A shuttle bus is about half that price.
Just a bit over 20.00 or so one way

Is the golden nugget a nice hotel in vegas?
Looking for a nice hotel but not to pricie like MGMIs the golden nugget a nice hotel in vegas?
It's a really old hotel...it was one of the first built in Vegas. If you want the old school maroon carpets and the old hag waitresses...go for it! The newer hotel are on the other side. They give away free and really cheap room deals. I stayed at the Bellagio, Wynn, Venetain and they were all awsome and I found very cheap rate coupons online.
THe Golden Nugget is still a pretty good Hotel in Las Vegas. The Fremont Street Experience helped to revive it. SInce they remodeled it, the rooms are pretty nice and should be comfortable to stay in. You should be impressed with their new pool area with the new shark tank and the new water slide. THey have really given the hotel a face lift. Check out the link below for more info.Is the golden nugget a nice hotel in vegas?
It's probably the nicest for downtown. You wouldn't be on The Strip, so you'd have to take a cab or the bus. If you want to be closer to the strip, look for a place that's few blocks away. Tuscany Gardens is cheap, but they have a $10 resort fee that they'll add to your room rate. It's decent, but it's not Bellagio.
It's billed as the most luxurious in Old Vegas Fremont Street. I think it's a great deal - it's a bit out of the way, but the prices are right.
Nice place but not on Strip, it is Downtown
I would look at NYNY, Excalibur, Monte Carlo on Strip
It's a very nice hotel, definitely the best one on Fremont Street.

Does anyone know what type of testing is done for Golden Nugget Employment? ATI- Combo or hair only?
I know they use American Toxicology but don't know if they do hair and urine combo or just hair?
THXDoes anyone know what type of testing is done for Golden Nugget Employment? ATI- Combo or hair only?
They probably do both. Urine testing is to test for use in the last 72 hours and hair testing is for use in the past 3 months. If you test positive and you have a prescription You are OK. If you don't have a prescription or have used illegally don't apply and create a record you don't want.

Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?
Please answer ONLY if you've been. In Oct. of this year my hubby %26amp; I are going to Vegas primarily to see the NHRA races for 3 days, but also to stay a couple more days and see Vegas (we like slots but don't really play the other card/dice games). I know GN is older but we'll have a car, etc and I have read several reviews online which sound good. Anyone know first hand???? If it was a bad experience, was it just that you had bad luck or have you heard others say the same? THANKS.Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?
Two main reasons for staying at the Golden Nugget. 1. The pool 2. It's classic Vegas. Now I don't know if the pool will be open in October. The rooms are nice. It depends on what you are looking for in a hotel. Price, class, area...that all affects which hotel is the right one for you.
I stayed for one night and it was fine. There was some nearby construction noise, but the AC drowned it out. I say go for it, the price is right, and if you're not big gamblers, you won't mind being a few miles from ther Strip. Is Golden Nugget good to stay at in Las Vegas?
think holiday inn style rooms with gambling,
i really wasnt too impressed i mean it's not dumpy or anything
it's just an average hotel room with a casino, i dont know what your really looking for so i cant help you out much beyond that, it was fine for 3 ,23 y/o guys on a drinking binge
and was one of the better ones i guess for the price even though after some looking later on for another trip , we found rooms at the mirage or whatever it's called for the same price so i wouldnt low ball your self till you've checked the other ones out as well , have a good time oh and if you feel like it take a drive out to red rocks! it's a real easy 15 min drive to the north and some real cool scencery, have a good trip
The Golden Nugget is a very nice four star hotel with all of the amenities you would expect from one. The hotel lobby and main hallways are dominated my brass, marble and etched glass.
I highly doubt you are going to find a Holiday Inn that has won AAA's, "four Diamond Award" 30 consecutive years.
The South Tower rooms are very nice, but if you want an upgrade go with the North Tower rooms.
The GN has always had a nice pool area but the new "Shark Tank" is too cool.
If you're a Bread Pudding lover you have to try the GN's buffet. Their Bread Pudding is a LV legend.
We play video poker the vast majority of the time and we enjoyed playing the 10/7 DB at the GN. Unfortunately when we were there last December those machines had been removed, so we played elsewhere.
The GN does have 8/5 BP(99.2%) and a special version of 8/5 BP that pays a bonus for certain Flush hands(99.8%) %26gt;These would be the machines I would play if you like the GN and would like to get free room offers from them in the future.
The GN's "24 Karat Club" is a very good slot club and their marketing offers are among the best for us low rollers. %26gt;They usually give you $10 in free slot play for a new sign up.
If they're giving away free money, by all means take it(sign up). %26gt;Sometimes, depending on your level of play it's best to combine your play and have both of you play on one account. If your level of play is high enough, then it's best to have each of you play on separate accounts, that way you would get twice as many free night offers.

Restaurant at Golden Nugget in Las Vegas?
Im going to Las Vegas and im going to stay at Golden Nugget so i wanted to know is the restaurant food really good cuz i heard that there food is really famous but now i want your advice?????Restaurant at Golden Nugget in Las Vegas?
I was disappointed with the GN. I did not like it, the food was like day old stuff. The staff was slow and disinterested in providing good service. I would not return there.
So many other options in town.
Vic and Anthony's Steakhouse is consistently voted one of the top 10 steakhouses in the US. Another favorite is Lillie's Noodle House. Excellent Chinese food! One last piece of advice, the Nugget has one of the better buffets in town.Restaurant at Golden Nugget in Las Vegas?
I do know the buffet could use improvement
I keep hearing that the buffet is a good choice there. Everytime I go to the Nugget there's tons of people there so that must be a good sign!

cab is the only way
the vegas bus station is very close to you downtown and will take u to the strip, runs every half hour or so
downtown is the best!
Can you say the Deuce its a double Decker bus the most hip thing since slice bread hit town
Hi...I was just there again in April. I wouldn't waste my ching on cabs......buy a 24 hr pass and ride the Deuce. It is a double decker bus that has a mix of both tourists and locals. Most locals go to the back of the bus.....it wasn't too bad.
we always take a cab
The bus is probably the best %26amp; cheapest way to go. It's too far to walk to the strip from downtown. A cab ride will cost you. The "strip" is one street so if you catch the RIGHT bus you should have no problem. It's about a 5 minute ride from downtown.
bus station is down town.last i rode it was 2 dollars each time you get on.

nice?Has anyone stayed at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas? Is it on the strip? What hotels are next to it and is it?
It's a nice hotel. And the beds are very comfortable, at least in my room they were. It's very fancy, but not exactly luxurious. The rooms are renovated and have nice, comfortable features.
The nicest place downtown, but not on the strip.
The Golden Nugget is actually down on Freemont street, it's an easy ride on the duce- the double decker bus that is $5 bucks for 24 hours worth of rides- it's near bennions, plaza, I'm sure there are others I'm just not sure what else is down there. I stayed at the plaza, it's a definate party area because the whole freemont area is pedestrian only, there are bands and stuff going on all the time, and drinks everywhere, 1/2 yards of margaritas and whatnot. it's worth the stay if you're looking for something a little cheaper and with that old vegas feeHas anyone stayed at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas? Is it on the strip? What hotels are next to it and is it?
I stayed there, but that was before it was redecorated. I did visit a couple of months ago, and the renovations are really nice. It's the most luxurious hotel Downtown, and an easy walk to the Fremont, 4 Queens, Golden Gate, Plaza, Fitzgeralds...everything Downtown is an easy walk. But it's a 5-10 minute ride to the Strip, depending on the traffic. The Strip is about 4 miles long and has terrible traffic almost all the time, so it can take an hour to travel! But it has all the great sightseeing: Caesars Palace, Paris, New York New York, Mirage, ...if you don't want to take taxis or rent a car, use the Deuce (double deck bus) or the trolley. They both stop at all the major hotels up and down the Strip. The Deuce also stops Downtown.
I have stayed at the Golden Nugget. It has been recently renovated and I have heard that the upgrades are very nice. The hotel in NOT on the strip. 4 Queens is right next door and the Freemont Hotel is right across the street. It is located on Freemont Street. All of the hotels downtown are within walking distance of each other. The hotel is the nicest of all the hotels downtown and I plan on staying there in the future. Very nice!
I have not stayed at the Golden Nuggets but recently some friends came into town and stayed there. They liked it although they complained the beds were not comfortable. I visited and loved their pool! They re-did it and made it (in my opinion) one of the best pools in Vegas! The slide is a good time.
No, it is not on the strip it is off of Fremont Street. Its close to the strip in a taxi or bus.

Considering the amount of money it costs for a decent meal these days, this can easily translate into hundreds of dollars spent on food each month at the bare minimum!

Where to stay in las vegas? Golden Nugget or Stratosphere Hotel?
where to stay in las vegas? Golden Nugget or Stratosphere Hotel? Fremont Downtown or Las Vegas Strip?Where to stay in las vegas? Golden Nugget or Stratosphere Hotel?
The stratosphere is the better of the two, but both are kind of trashy.
The stratosphere is on the strip, but in a bad neighborhood and not within walking distance of many attractions.
If those are your only 2 choices, I'd choose Stratosphere. It's a nice place, but in a pretty bad location. It IS closer to the strip though, and that's where all the action is. Golden Nugget is downtown, which is a fun place to hang out for a few hours, but not really the best part of Vegas to stay in.
If your choices are strictly based on your budget, I'd look into the rates at Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana, and Imperial Palace. They aren't super nice places by any means, but they are usually pretty cheap and are in far better locations than either Golden Nugget or Strat.Where to stay in las vegas? Golden Nugget or Stratosphere Hotel?
If I were forced to choose from those two, it would be the Golden Nugget.
Yes, its downtown but the most "Strip-like" of all the hotel casinos there and in the middle of the action in that part of town.
The Strat is on Las Vegas Blvd and still considered part of the Strip, but just barely. Since the Sahara closed down, there is NOTHING within walking distance other than Circus Circus and the Riv and even then they are not all that close.
JMHO but there are better Strip choices out there......
Look-over your budget!
Downtown for the cheap.
Las Vegas Strip for the money no problem crowd.
Stratosphere is kinda on the cheap. Is on the strip! A bus stops in front of it on Las Vegas Blvd!
www.cheapovegas.com has reviews on Las Vegas, NV. and links.
I would recommend that you stay on the Strip. DT Fremont isn't a very good area. Staying on the strip will be safer and more convenient for you since the majority of shows and attractions are located on the strip.
You can stay in these are the hotels.........
= Stratosphere Tower - Casino %26amp; Resort Hotel
Located right on the Las Vegas Strip, the Stratosphere Tower Casino %26amp; Resort houses over 2,000 guest rooms and suites.
Stratosphere is NOT on Strip and not nice walk. Closest other casino is Circus Circus and Riveria. But then I don't like Downtown and I am a local. I would stay at Excalibur if looking for a deal

What ever happened to Tim Poster and Tom Breitling the owners of the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.?
A couple of years ago they had a reality TV series about the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. The owners at that time were Tim Poster and Tom Breitling. They were in the news and all the gossip columns every day. I know that they sold the Golden Nugget to Landry restaurants after 1 year of owning the casino. What ever happened two these two guys are they part owners of another casino, its like they just disappeared. I've been to the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas it is a great casino in downtown Las Vegas. What ever happened to Tim Poster and Tom Breitling the owners of the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.?

Is it alright if my golden nugget pleco has one eye ?
i bought a golden nugget pleco today and i saw is left eye its to me is blind all light white any helpIs it alright if my golden nugget pleco has one eye ?
It's fine as long as you make sure it gets food. Cloudy eye may be curable, but if permanently blind your fish can still use its other eye and its other senses to find food.

What should i feed my golden nugget plec?
Plecos love cucumber slices, and potato slices.
Plecos also really like to have bogwood in the tank.
I also buy these tablets for my plecos and they absolutley love them :)
Hikari Algae Wafers Pleco and Algae Eaters, in shop these can be quite expensive, but i bought mine off ebay, and got a 250g bag for just 拢6.49!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/250g-Hikari-Algae-鈥?/a>
Nutrafin max for bottom feeders, these are also great tablets, these are more healthier ones, as they are full of other vitamins and minerals that your plecos require.
I hope i helped :)What should i feed my golden nugget plec?
Plecs like to bottom feed so to give them a chance at some food, you need to feed sinking plant pellets/wafers and even algae wafers. However like a lot of fish you need to give them a more varied diet. If you can get any to them without your other fish gobbling the lot then they will also like to eat meatier foods too like brine shrimp and bloodworms (live or frozen). Some will even take to a stray flake food or two if they aren't too fussy.
All the above are available from any fish store but you can also feed your plec stuff you may find in your fridge like cucumber, zuccini, spinach, romano lettuce and de-shelled peas. Some will even like banana but dont leave this for long in the tank because it will turn the water murky. Plecs can take up to 12 to eat some foods like these whilst they mush up a bit and you can speed up this process by microwaving them in a bowl of water or boiling them first
golden nuggets aren't huge algae munchers, they much prefer a meatier diet of catfish wafers, bloodworm and other meaty treats. they may nibble some soft algaes and bogwood, but definitely won't put any kind of dent in an algae explosion. bogwood is fairly essential in all plecos diet to aide digestion. What should i feed my golden nugget plec?
they are bottom feeders so are better with catfish food they are algea feeders so algae wafers or pellets that sink are best weight some cucumber down in the tank they love it but remove it after 2 days because it softens and breaks up . they certainly grow quickly if you give it to them once a week.
they will suck algae and stuff off the glass and decor, some species (don't know if gn is one of them) like to scrape driftwood with their suction mouths and get the fibers or something, but if theres not enough algae they like algae wafers, those can be bought at most pet stores.
Plec tablets, algae wavers, weighted down cucumber.
When they are small they are good glass cleaners, but that drops off as they grow.
Bogwood is a good idea for all plec's, the fungus that grows on it aids their digestion.

This is a common scam, and many people have been lured into it, and lost a lot of money. I strongly advise you to delete the e-mail, and don't do anything they tell you to do.
This scam has been done many times, and with many other hotels. For some reason, the scammer appear to always use Canadian hotels, although they themselves appear to be mainly from Nigeria.

What is the difference between a golden nugget and a normal piece of gold?
I thought Golden Nuggets were Cereal? What is the difference between a golden nugget and a normal piece of gold?
Nuggets are one of the natural forms of gold. The gold in ingot or coin form contains an exact quantity of gold, more easily exchanged. An ingot would have to be assayed to determine its value.

If you're a night owl or an early riser try the "graveyard special" at California's Market St Cafe 11pm-7am
One of my favorite places to eat is the Triple 7 Restaurant at Main Street Station. They have a prime rib dinner for $7 , after 4pm. The menu says it's an 8oz prime rib, don't believe it, it's huge. Don't order the 16oz unless you're an NFL lineman.
If you want to go first class, try the Pullman Grille at Main Street Station. It's only open Wednesday through Sunday after 5pm. This is the best "moderate" price steakhouse in LV. The restaurant was actually built around the fireplace from Preswick Castle.
Main Street Station also is one of the few places you can see a section of the Berlin Wall - It's located in the Mens room, down the hallway between the Garden Court Buffet and the main cashiers cage. It's a small bathroom, and yes, the women can/do go in and check it out. MSS has so many antiques, artifacts and artwork that they have a brochure at the front desk for them.
You're going to like the Golden Nugget, it's a very nice 4 star hotel.

well for one, enjoy all to be had in downtown, since they have pretty good gambling,as the strip has higher dollar value to play any cards games. I love playing the old slots machine, And you don't have to drive to see the Fremont Experience(light show),besides you don't live in your hotel room,, yes the older hotel casino have older ventilation,so expect it to be a little smoky..

Go to the Fremont Street Experience office at 425 Fremont, it's located on the 2nd floor of the parking garage next to Wal-greens, show them an out of state ID. They will give you a great set of coupons for the FSE hotels.
$10 free play - Golden Nugget
$10 free play - Binion's - Cut the $10 coupon out of the "What's On" magazine in your room, use both for $20 free play each
2-4-1 buffet - Main Street Station, This is already the best value buffet in LV. Two of you can eat a great lunch buffet for $8 or $11 for dinner Sun/Mon/Wed, Tue %26amp; Thur are specialty nights and cost $13 - the coupon is not good for seafood fri/sat buffet

Have booked into the golden nugget in december how does the facilities charge work.?
they say there is no resort charge is this just another way of getting money out of youHave booked into the golden nugget in december how does the facilities charge work.?
Although you may plan to travel there by air, your question has nothing to do with Air Travel.
Any charge stated separately from the stated room rate and not for optional services is just a way of making the rate look lower or in other words, yes, getting more money out of you.

Do the shuttle from airport Las Vegas to Golden Nugget leaves you at the hotel or I need a taxi from downtown?
the Shuttle wil drop you off and pick you up from the Motel when your ready to go backDo the shuttle from airport Las Vegas to Golden Nugget leaves you at the hotel or I need a taxi from downtown?
You can get a round trip shuttle ticket downtown for $15.00 time wise from the airport it can be up to 45 mins depending on the stops. If you are traveling with more than 2 people the taxi would probably be cheaper
I have to agree with taking a taxi. The Golden Nugget is downtown and the shuttles take a long time to get there. Taking a taxi doesn't cost that much and it save a lot of time. The last thing I want to do after traveling all day is sit on a shuttle.Do the shuttle from airport Las Vegas to Golden Nugget leaves you at the hotel or I need a taxi from downtown?
The shuttles stop at EVERY SINGLE hotel that there are guests for, on the shuttle - this takes a while - and it is HOT. Want to get their sooner? Take a taxi. Not that far - not that expensive.

Should I stay at the Golden Nugget (South Tower) or the Orleans?
I need to spend a couple of nights in LV at the tail end of a trip, and want to do it on the cheap. Apparently these two hotels can each be had for $40 a night, and I'm trying to decide between them. Your suggestions?Should I stay at the Golden Nugget (South Tower) or the Orleans?
Well the $40 room at the GN don't have a view, but if you pay $15 more you can get above the parking garage and get a nice view of the city. The GN is much higher rated hotel (AAA 4 diamonds) than the Orleans (AAA 3 diamond). GN has a very nice pool.
==============
The GN has 2400 rooms on a 12 acre piece of property, while the Orleans has 1800 rooms and an arena on an 80 acre piece of property, so GN has a much more urban feel. Orleans is surrounded by a large parking lot, it has a movie theater, and is popular with local Las Vegans. If there is a good show or concert at the arena it might tip the balance towards Orleans.
------------------------
If you are concerned with money then GN could actually cost less, because you can easily walk to dozens of super cheap places to eat and gamble. But dining inside GN can be more expensive than Orleans.
----------------------
Either casino is about 3.5 miles from The Wynn, but from Orleans it is about 1.5 miles to Las Vegas Blvd (shuttle buses are available). You can walk to Aria from Orleans (east on Tropicana, left at Polaris before Wild Wild West) go 2 blocks, and make a right on Harmon Avenue (cross I-15 and enter complex). Distance to Aria is about 1.8 miles.
Hi Z, I usually stay at the orleans because i get free rooms when i stay in vegas. Its a good casino, restaurants are good! I just recently went downtown to the golden nugget walking through the casino and i liked it alot!! It is the best hotel downtown vegas and if you had the choice of staying at the GN for $40 bucks a night i would go with the nugget over the orleans but like i said i get free rooms at Orleans!Should I stay at the Golden Nugget (South Tower) or the Orleans?
Hi,
I would go with downtown and the Fremont Street Experience. I would think that you will enjoy at the Nugget. For information about what Las vegas Downtown has to offer check out this site.
Hope this helps.
Interesting choices. The Golden Nugget would put you downtown. The Orleans has nothing around it and would be a pain going to and from the strip. At least with the Golden Nugget you will have all of downtown to enjoy.
Golden Nugget is definitely a better choice. The rooms are nicer and cleaner. The hotel is in the middle of all the downtown action and when you need to get to the strip, the deuce will take you there and back. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/golden-nu鈥?/a>

(in las vegas) I can't swim so I want to knowHow deep is the golden nugget pool?
The pool is relatively shallow as it is 3-5 feet deep and surrounds a shark tank in which live sharks swim. There is a water slide that goes through the shark tank. There is no diving board

It all depends on how far ur finger can reach. Some days r better than others

We love Golden Nugget but getting to valet entrance difficult. Is MSS easier?
Main Street Station sounds nice. We tried Sam's Town this trip, but were terribly disappointed. We're looking for good value and easy in-n-out in a rented car next trip.We love Golden Nugget but getting to valet entrance difficult. Is MSS easier?
We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We were in LV 55 nights last year and spent 15 of those at MSS
http://www.mainstreetcasino.com
It's our favorite place to stay/play/eat
MSS is easy to get to and the parking garage is very convenient. If you get off at the downtown exit, just make a right on Stewart and you will run right into MSS. Turn right on Main st for about half a block to get to the entrance to the garage.
You can pull right up in front of the door to unload if you like.
You will love MSS, they have the best buffet(value) in all of LV. The Triple 7 restaurant and brew pub is a really nice place to eat($7 prime rib dinner after 4pm is hard to beat). The Pullman Grille is awesome.
The entire staff is very friendly.
If you like video poker, they have 9/6 JOB %26amp; 10/7 DB %26amp; every time you hit a 4OAK or better they give you a scratch off ticket, it's usually $2-$3 but every once in a while someone gets a $5000 one.
Have a great time. If you have any Q feel free to e-mail me.
~Jack~
I stay at the nugget all the time when I go to vegas...I also rent a car as it pays for taxi fees..but if you had a bad trip this time dont think the mss is any better in my opinion I would stay at the nugget and before you leave your room to go to the strip or just want to go for a ride I always call the valet and have my car ready for me when I get there and as far as getting back in to the valet just blow the horn and tell those damn cab drivers to move it cause they have no problem doing it to you...hope you have a great trip wherever you stay!!!!!We love Golden Nugget but getting to valet entrance difficult. Is MSS easier?
The Gold Coast is a great value. It is off the strip, but still close enough (and across the streets from the Palms and Rio).
Arizona Charlie's is also nice and valet parking is easy to get to, but it is a ways from anything else.

Do you have to stay at the golden nugget?
To use their pool?Do you have to stay at the golden nugget?
There is not a charge to use the pool . I live in vegas and have stayed at the golden nugget several times. When you go to get your towels at the towel cabana they will ask to see your room key. There is usually a security officer standing at the doors that lead to the pool asking for room keys as well. The shark tank in the midde of the pool can be veiwed from the deck of the pool and anyone can look at that. If you are not staying there good luck getting into the pool. You should consider staying there becuase it is a great place to stay.
No, the Shark Tank is open to the public
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/coolpools鈥?/a>Do you have to stay at the golden nugget?
No there is a charge per person to use the pool
Yes. I was stopped by security personnel who asked to see my room key.

Any thoughts on staying at the Golden Nugget in Vegas?
Going there with family over Christmas. The parents, who are paying, like it there. The rest of us are in our late twenties, early thirties. I know the Strip is more "hip," but has anyone younger stayed at the Nugget???Any thoughts on staying at the Golden Nugget in Vegas?
I have never stayed there but I have been there many times. The GN is in the downtown area of Las Vegas or Freemont (what I call it) - which is about a 15 min drive from all the hip clubs and lounges (The Strip - Ceasars, MGM, NY NY) or not even 10 min from Stratosphere which has 2 clubs, Polly Esthers and something else.
Freemont, to me is a cool place to hang out, drink, walk around, cheap gambling and Jillians (also has a club and bowling alley).
You can also take the bus - The Deuce from Freemont to the Strip, bus runs 24 hours and it costs about $2 each way or $5 for 24 hour pass, which is an awesome deal because you can use that during the day and then at night.
The GN has remodeled there pool area with a huge shark tank in the middle of the pool and you can swim around the pool and watch the sharks and fish from all angles and the MOST COOLEST thing is that there is a slide that you go slide down and THROUGH the tank, ofcourse you are protected by the glass (durr).
For the most part all of the hotels in vegas are essentially the same unless you're a "high roller"
The nugget is cool...a little piece of vegas history. Your best bet is to map your trip out before you go..figure out where you wanna go at night and then take cabs down to the strip. Its too far to walk and renting a car to drive in Vegas is like paying money to sit in traffic.
We usually just grab a cab to the Aladdin and then work our way up the strip...by the time we get to the bellagio or caesers we're all good.
J-Any thoughts on staying at the Golden Nugget in Vegas?
Even though it is not on the strip you can have on Freemont St. If you want to go to the strip take a taxi or catch the bus.
I've never stayed at the golden nugget yet, but ive been inside, its gorgoues! My husband and I (i'm 23, hes 24) love downtown, its so different from the strip. Id stay away from cabs if you can, they can get expensive. Take the duece bus... it costs 5 dollars for a 24 hour pass! You can catch it right across the street from Hennesseys (the giant beer pint lol)
The Nugget is the gem of Old Vegas ! It was recently renovated and there's even some crazy reality show surrounding its new young owners(??).
It's on Freemont Street which is a major tourist attraction and there are always "air shows" there.
It's also a quick cab drive to The Palms and The Strip.
They also have a $10 incentive to sign up for their players club at the Nugget.
I went to Vegas for the first time last year. I'm in my thirty's and I thought it was great. It was being remolded, but too me it had a cozy feel to it and the people get to know you etc. Besides it Vegas baby we were gone more than we saw the hotel anyway. Have a great time, I can't wait to go back.

The Golden Nugget is nice. You'll like it.
I just scheduled my third trip and it will be the first time for my husband for mid December. I have stayed on the strip both times and this time we decided to stay on Freemont Street and all my investigation pointed to the Golden Nugget as it is the nicest hotel on Freemont Street. We are very excited. The most fun I had on both previous trips was had downtown. You can still go to the strip and do all the strip stuff - just grab a cab. You will have a great time there and so will your parents. Be sure to hit the Mermaid Casino on Freemont Street - great fun! And - hello - someone else is paying! Rock on!
You will love downtown! I haven't stayed at the Golden Nugget but have been there. Downtown is a lot of fun, it is more laid back than the strip. The Fremont Experience is very entertaining. It's more than the light show. There are stages all along it and differenct acts perform.

I have stayed at the G Nugget 3 times. All before the remodel. I loved it each time. You'll probly be booked in South tower but all the rooms are nice.

Yes.
I'm 27 and stayed there once for Christmas to visit family. It's pretty nice. It's not as hip as the strip, but has great ammenities. I think it has the best food downtown and the spa is pretty nice. What I didn't like is that those older casinos downtown have lower ceilings so the second hand smoke is terrible (if you're a nonsmoker, do your gambling at the newer casinos on the strip--the ceilings are higher). I didn't like the pillows at the nugget and got a stiff neck-- wished I would've packed a down pillow. Overall, though, it's the nicest place downtown. You might want to invest in a bus pass so you can go to the strip. The only downfall about going to vegas during Christmas is that there aren't as many shows playing. You'd have to catch a weeknight show. Harrah's is a fun place to check out if you find yourself too old for the clubs and to young to for downtown. Hope this all helps. Have fun!

Have fun!
Has anyone ever seen an "Alaskan Golden Nugget"?
I've seen this ad a few times but I can't find any information about this so-called breed.
"New designer dogs. Alaskan Golden Nugget puppies will grow to resemble wolvesHas anyone ever seen an "Alaskan Golden Nugget"?
No, I haven't even heard of them until now. Sounds like another designer breed and people trying to make more money. I think it's sad.
I have no idea what your talking about. Yea, two points!Has anyone ever seen an "Alaskan Golden Nugget"?
I'd stop reading after "designer dog". That ALWAYS equals puppy mill or backyard breeder.
It's a mutt that someone slapped a stupid name on.
There is why. It is not a breed and I hope to never see one. You can make up your own info on it...it will probably be just as accurate.
Its probably just some mutt, and you cant ever predict what they will look like, never buy a designer dog....
doesn't even exist maybe it does but its a mutt or something not very common
come again
No such thing as a designer dog. Its just mutt with a fancy name. Who ever put it up is a puppy mill or a BYB trying to make some quick money. And there so no ''Alaskan Gold Nugget''.

I'd like to see if I can paint The Golden Nugget purple so that it's The Purple Nugget, can I?
I am a professional painter. I have been painting houses for
72 years and I know every trick in the book about making a paintjob look absolutely perfect. I painted the President's House white many years ago, why do think they call it
"The White House"?
I would like to paint your Golden Nugget casino purple so it can be a purple glittery casino on the outside and I'll such a perfect job, you won't be dissapointed.
What do you say?

The "Purple One", Prince, already painted the Rio purple. Sorry, it looks like you've been beaten to the punch. However, you can alwayss check with the Golden Nugget and ask if they need a paint job! Since they're always looking to "upgrade", you never know... The Purple Nugget sounds good to me. Throw in some purple drinks, purple slots and tables and I'm there!I'd like to see if I can paint The Golden Nugget purple so that it's The Purple Nugget, can I?

What would i golden nugget pleco eat?
i have been feeding it wafers but what else would it eatWhat would i golden nugget pleco eat?
A pleco is just like most any other tropical catfish, as that's what it is, an armored catfish. Algae wafers are a good suppliment, but it's a straight bottom feeder. You don't need a specific food for it. It will help clean up any leftover uneaten food in your substrate.
pleco pettels brine shimp eggs and crushed up flakeWhat would i golden nugget pleco eat?
it should be eating waste out of your tank but my pleco would eat food id feed to my African chiclids i think it was chiclid attack or something
If you have an established tank it will find things to eat. Other than the wafers I never feed mine anything. It just cleans the tank for you at night.chucky cheese coupons infiniti g37

Is John McCain Confused About The Time Line of His Golden Nugget The Surge and The Sunni Arab Sheiks In Anbar?
He seems to tie the Tribal leaders alliance with the American military and the Surge.

Dude...I was THERE. It was March 2007 and I was in Fallujah when we turned Al Anbar. The only reason it was able to happen at all is because we were part of the surge. We would have already been gone by that point if we hadn't gotten extended. We knew the area...we knew the major players...we knew where the bad guys were and what they were in to. Anbar turning was a direct result of having people who were familiar with the area and the people (us) knowing where and when to take the offensive to keep the foreign entities on the run. We were causing the bad guys to lose thier control on several key areas around the city..not the least of which was the major enemy supply routes between Baghdad and Fallujah through Ramadi. That's why they stepped up thier torture and execution campaign against the population to maintain control.. That's why they lost the local support. That's why the Sheiks of Anbar had the time and space to plan, organise, and execute thier own security measures. Yes...the surge helped turn Al Anbar.
In fact, the Sunni revolt against Al-Qaida in Iraq’s Anbar province — commonly referred to as “The Awakening” — “began” long before Bush even announced his “surge” policy in January 2007. As the New York Times noted in April 2007:
The turnabout began last September [2006], when a federation of tribes in the Ramadi area came together as the Anbar Salvation Council to oppose the fundamentalist militants of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia.
But also, President Bush himself noted this fact in a speech to the Naval War College in June, 2007:
Last September [2006], Anbar was all over the news. It was held up as an example of America’s failure in Iraq. The papers cited a leaked intelligence report that was pessimistic about our prospects there. […]
About the same time some folks were writing off Anbar, our troops were methodically clearing Anbar’s capital city of Ramadi of terrorists, and winning the trust of the local population. In parallel with these efforts, a group of tribal sheiks launched a movement called “The Awakening” — and began cooperating with American and Iraqi forces.
Spencer Ackerman notes that the colonel McCain cited is “now a one-star general” and had explained the “Awakening” to a reporter in September 2006 “before it even had a name.” “For McCain to say that the Anbar Awakening is the product of the surge is either a lie or professional malpractice,” added Ackerman. Is John McCain Confused About The Time Line of His Golden Nugget The Surge and The Sunni Arab Sheiks In Anbar?
I think you do not know what good is.
Obama wants to surrender the entire USA to islam. Obama wants America to be forced to give a significant amount of its hard earned gross national product to the UN, which is islamically influenced against the USA...so that the UN can simply hand the money over to Africa so make Africa more comfy to islamists which are taking it over quite violently as we all speak, including one of Obama own brothers. Islam hates America, hates freedom, hates anything which is able to think logically. Americas only hope is that people will wake up and see that just because something says it is good but proves it is not good.. America would not vote for such things to have reign over it.
I think you are an islamic person pretending to be an American.
Islam is evil. it represents the spread of oily evil cancerlike disease on the worlds heart. it causes women to be raped.. children to be raped and used as camel jockeys .. it causes men like Saddam the muslim to rise up and claim his religion of islam supports him..which indeed it does and never stops any others like him at all .
The USA needs to drill quickly to rid itself of islamic influences. Islam is an angry , vengeful, spiteful, mean, torturous, greasy religion which seeks to envelop people in a strange caul of inescapable coverage which causes breathing to stop and thus death to arrive even though Allah is the One who alone has the right to take or to give life. May Allah be merciful on you. May Allah rid the world of the fake peaceful religion forever when He reforms this world.

But if the surge was NOT implemented the violence level wouldn't be as low as it is today. QED
It is still a fact that Obama wanted to surrender Iraq.
YES - he is confused....

He really is confused. He recently said about the Pakistan-Iraq border. Pakistan and Iraq are not neighbors. People have voiced concerns about his mental capacity.

Should i stay at the golden nugget or Fitzgeralds?
Keep in mind the regular deluxe rooms and bathrooms.
I hear that the Golden nugger is good, but the reason why i'm considering the fitzgeralds is that it is a tall hotel, and maybe i can get a good view?Should i stay at the golden nugget or Fitzgeralds?
the golden nugget is definitely better, and the pool is amazing.
Those are in North Las Vegas. If this is your first time there, why not stay at the strip somewhere around Bally's. You get a great view of the strip and you are in the middle of all the action. See the fountains at the Bellagio, and TI's Siren show, and the volcano show at the Mirage. These are free and they have them every night. they also have them timed so that you can walk from one to the other.
then maybe one night take the bus (I think it is #31) to Fremont Experience and then you can view the Golden Nugget, and Fitzgerald's and the Four Queens too.
Good luck, I know you'll enjoy the trip, win or lose.Should i stay at the golden nugget or Fitzgeralds?
golden nugget
The Golden Nugget and the Fitz's are downtown not North Las Vegas. you won't get a view from downtown unless your room is facing south downtown is real Vegas, the south strip is fake everyone's trying to be something there not, very crowded on the weekends stay downtown ride the deuce to see the strip.
I'd pick the Fitz's.
The Golden Nugget is a better hotel and the view is good too!
The Golden Nugget surely is nicer but the Fitz is not so bad itself. I have friends who love the Fitz. I tend not to prefer to stay downtown when I go. But I visit the Fitz.
And if downtown and doing the buffet thing, I recommend the buffet at the Fremont. Even the regular buffet was very good for $9.99 and the dining room was very nice. I am usually not a fan of buffets but I sure like this one and the price.
the fitzgeralds is taller, but the golden nugget is a nicer hotel. It has been remodeled and is the place to stay here if you stay downtown. But it really doesn't have a view. So if the room really doesn't mean alot, stay at fitzgeralds.
Golden Nugget is excellent. It is rated as a Mobil 5 Diamond hotel.
The pool area is all new. Great restaurants. Good slot club. Very nice rooms and suites.
It is downtown Las Vegas and about a 15 minute drive to the heart of the Strip.
